Architecture is the answer to a need for space capable of arousing emotions, a skilful combination where philosophy, technique and experience come together. Defining spaces and creating a familiar and comfortable place where emotions are reproduced is the ambition that our projects have. This is our philosophy. Thanks to the many years of experience of our team in the sector, we try to create places that can tell a story. Every architectural or design project always starts from the need to respond to the needs and requests of the customer: from the meticulous analysis of the surfaces to the identification of the morphological characteristics of the intervention area, we seek the perfect combination of aesthetic impact, overview and details.

Studio2111 crosses architecture without the limits of orthogonality, projecting the proposed forms towards soft profiles that are inspired by zoomorphic forms.

Why Domes?

It is not only the architecture as built but it is above all what surrounds it and which develops it in function of man: the general and the particular, the voids and spaces, each bond produces empathy and allows for the creation of a connection between individuals elements, in order to emotionally involve the viewer making him an active protagonist of every architectural project. The study of light and its effects, the contamination between space and lighting and the way they interact, is an integral part of our profession. Speaking of living environments (commercial or residential, public or private) our architects have put into practice essential knowledge to design and define the essence of space in new forms or to provide great realism to architecture, making light as a generating principle, not a simple decorative element. The "dome" construction typology, in its various declinations, is a typical element of Mediterranean architecture; an architectural work that comes from nature and, developing horizontally, blends in harmony with it, for a unique aesthetic value, as well as high bioclimatic performance. The plasticity of the forms and the connections that may arise from the composition of the same, means that this type of construction is suitable for the different intended uses: from the accommodation facility, to the private residence, to laboratories, commercial structures, hospital complexes, etc.

The Domes, the Environment and the Climate

The extreme climatic conditions of Africa, the difficulty of procuring materials and the lack of funds for construction sparked interest in Fabrizio Caròla for a new approach to construction: in the 1980s (construction period of the Kaedi hospital in Mauritania) discovers the advantages of using Km0 materials as well as the possibility of transforming unfavorable climatic conditions without necessarily having to resort to expensive and impactful elements. The use of fired bricks assembled in a double shell gives the building a thermal inertia suitable for conferring the necessary comfort. The shape assumes great importance: the curved walls favor the internal convective motions ensuring the perfect functioning of the chimney effect. We continue to study the behaviors and benefits related to the study of vegetation for natural shading, external colors that favor comfort and the study of natural light as well as the aesthetic aspect. Harmony with the natural context that houses the artifacts is achieved with the horizontal development of the architecture: the buildings are articulated in the context, entering the vegetation without requiring any demolition. The proposed building structure is therefore the result of single structures linked together. This makes them unique for their aesthetic appearance.
